Welcome! Thank you for offering your time to Changing Faces. We are indebted to our many volunteers around the country who donate their time, energy and enthusiasm.

There are so many ways to get involved with our work, from training as a Skin Camouflage Practitioner to cheering on a marathon runner. Any time you give makes an enormous difference to the work of Changing Faces.

Thank you for filling out this application form - it should take no more than 20 minutes. Although we’re always very pleased to receive volunteer applications please bear in mind that we are a small charity and we may not always have suitable opportunities immediately available.

e.g. personal lived experience of a condition, scar or mark which affects appearance

You can read more about how we handle your data here.
Please note that if you are currently receiving support from one of our Changing Faces Practitioners you may not be able to volunteer with Changing Faces. And if in the future you receive support from a practitioner at Changing Faces, you will have to cease your volunteering role until three months past the end of that contract. Ethical considerations require that appropriate boundaries are maintained.

With the exception of clinics administered by the NHS or an existing Volunteer Administrator, all Skin Camouflage clinics are administered by our Practitioners using a dedicated mobile phone and dedicated email account. Administrating your clinic also includes sending letters by post. You will also need to log-in to an online database, search for clients and update their information pre- and post-clinics.

Administrating a clinic generally takes 2-3 hours per clinic date. You will need to be flexible to respond to calls and emails on a daily basis, from clients, the practitioners you support and your Skin Camouflage Coordinator.

This agreement applies to all potential Changing Faces Skin Camouflage Practitioners who are observing consultations as part of their training. In each consultation, the Skin Camouflage Practitioner will check with the service user whether they are happy to have someone observe the appointment. If the client does not want anyone observing you will be asked to leave the room. The Skin Camouflage Service offers a personalised service to individuals and as part of this service confidential and personal information relating to each individual is discussed e.g. the skin conditions, address and other identifying information. No information about a client or the consultation should be given directly or indirectly to anyone outside Changing Faces unless the client’s permission has been asked for and their consent has been given. The only exception to this is in circumstances where there is concern about potentially serious risk of harm to an individual or to another person. No other person outside Changing Faces should ever know that a client has contacted the Charity, except in exceptional circumstances e.g. you are concerned for their safety. If a volunteer or trainee has breached the confidentiality policy it may not be possible for them to continue volunteering with Changing Faces. By submitting this form you are showing that you are willing to abide by this agreement. This agreement is not intended to be a legally binding contract or intends any employment relationship to be created either now or at any time in the future.
